Linn of Dee spectacular gorge and gothic Victorian bridge

 
 
The Linn of Dee is near Braemar, on Royal Deeside,Scotland. The river Dee surges through a spectacular 300 metre long narrow rock gorge.<br />
The bridge over the raging torrent below is of granite construction; with ornate parapets; and also features an unusual pointed arch. The bridge was opened by Queen Victoria and was constructed in the popular gothic style of the time. Originally the crossing was made by using a plank of wood!
